Director of Development

Christian Relief Services Charities (CRSC) (www.crscfamily.org) is seeking a Director of Development to provide coordination and oversight of all fundraising activities of our affiliates, including but not limited to: corporate and foundation giving, individual and major donor giving, planned giving, event planning and implementation, donor management, and donor cultivation. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute plans for individual donor giving, develop strong relationships with donors
• Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals
• Research individual, corporate, and foundation prospects
• Coordinate special events and community outreach activities such as working with churches, universities, or local organizations to spread brand awareness and generate donor interest
• Attend Board meetings, serving as a liaison to the Development Committee, and working with individual Board members to develop their donor prospect lists and pursue solicitation
• Work with and train Board and stakeholders to enhance their ability to serve as stewards of the CRSC mission.
• Oversee content of the donor databases and all records, files and gift processing
• Oversee donor acknowledgement letters and appreciation activities
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and with the code of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct for fundraising executives, maintain accountability standards to donors compliance
• Develop budget, conduct program analysis, and generate reports
• Promote fundraising through newsletters, Annual Reports, websites, etc.
• Develop and monitor annual marketing plan
• Produce (as a part of a team) donor solicitation and other fundraising materials including Annual Reports
• Assist (in collaboration with a team) with the production of newsletters, annual report, brochures, micro-sites
• Develop promotional strategies to market programs, services, and publications
• Manage all advertising, and the creation and production of ads in conjunction with the art department
• Supervise development and marketing interns and volunteers
• Manage updates on social marketing media (e.g., website, blogging, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Twitter, etc.)

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success as a fundraising and communications professional within a nonprofit setting, Masters Degree preferred
• Demonstrated success with foundation, corporate, individual and major gifts
• Experience and success in digital marketing and social media outreach
• Provide strong leadership skills for staff, volunteers, committees and Board members, while performing most day-to-day duties independently
• Experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, donors and other organizational stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication and effective problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with independent goal-setting and is results-driven
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of fundraising databases, specifically Convio Common Ground, preferred
• Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team
• A commitment to innovation and creativity in the field

• Available to travel
